Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Novel Maestro. They represent our commitments and expectations regarding your use of the platform.

1. Welcome / Acceptance of Terms

These terms govern your use of Novel Maestro ("the Service"). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Your Account

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Novel Maestro accounts are intended for individual use; you agree not to share your login credentials with others. You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating your account.

3. Manuscript Rights & Intellectual Property

Your manuscript belongs entirely to you. Uploading your work to Novel Maestro does not transfer any intellectual property rights or copyrights to us. We claim no ownership over your writing. By uploading your manuscript, you grant us a limited, secure license strictly to process and analyze the text for the sole purpose of delivering the Service to you. You warrant that you own or have the legal right to upload any manuscript you submit.

4. Use of AI

Novel Maestro utilizes artificial intelligence to provide editorial analysis and developmental feedback. You acknowledge that AI-generated insights are advisory suggestions, not prescriptive mandates. The AI outputs are intended to be tools that assist your own editorial judgment. We explicitly do not use your manuscripts to train our AI models. Due to the nature of AI, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy or applicability of every suggestion, and you bear ultimate responsibility for any revisions made to your work.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not upload illegal, highly explicit, or unauthorized copyrighted content. You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer our platform, bypass security measures, or use the Service to generate content for others without their explicit permission. Please respect the integrity of the platform and other users.

6. Data & Privacy

We handle your data in accordance with our forthcoming Privacy Policy. Manuscripts are stored securely, encrypted both at rest and in transit. We retain your manuscript data only for as long as your account is active and you choose to keep the project on our servers. You can export or permanently delete your data at any time. Once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.

7. Subscription & Payments

Certain features of Novel Maestro may be offered on a paid subscription basis. Pricing, billing terms, cancellation, and refund policies for these premium tiers will be detailed separately when they become available.

8. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive for high availability and reliability, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance windows, updates, or unforeseen technical issues.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Novel Maestro shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service. We are not responsible for any editorial or publishing decisions you make based on feedback provided by the platform.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Fair Usage

Novel Maestro is designed to support individual writers working on their manuscripts. To ensure a quality experience for all users, the Service is subject to fair usage limits on AI-powered analysis and processing. These limits are designed to be generous for normal editorial workflows. We reserve the right to restrict or throttle access for accounts that significantly exceed typical usage patterns — for example, through automated or programmatic access, bulk processing of multiple manuscripts simultaneously, or use of the Service on behalf of a large number of third parties. Specific fair usage thresholds will be published separately as our pricing tiers are finalized. If your usage is flagged, we will contact you before taking any action.
